RV Insurance FAQs

SGI plate insurance allows you to use your RV anywhere in Canada and the U.S. without restriction, provided you remain a Saskatchewan resident. If you’re going to be outside Saskatchewan for over 30 days, it’s recommended to inform SGI.

Your basic SGI RV/motorhome plate includes $200,000 third-party liability, which applies in both Canada and the U.S. However, many RVers opt to increase their liability especially if they’re headed to the U.S.

If your RV or trailer is included on an auto policy, your auto policy will provide coverage while your RV or trailer is stored on private property. Inform our office that your RV or trailer is going into storage. We can adjust your auto policy appropriately to reflect storage conditions and remove unnecessary coverages while it is stored.

Yes, your comprehensive and collision coverage through your SGI registration also applies to your trailer while it’s being towed.
